I like to mess with videos & images & sound & stuff to enhance it, & use a lot of rather unusual techniques that can get some uniquely impressive, beautiful results ~ from running photos through 'video' software like FFDShow & the many complex filter options I have been fiddling with for about 20 years, to using other 'freeware junk' that can do amazing things if you just dig deep into the available options like custom tweaking the various gamma curve tools in creative ways. There's so much you can do to get stuff looking better than you ever thought possible, it's really amazing. One of the shocking things I have discovered is how much better I can make movies look than the original releases, like for instance 'Pacific Rim' is very dark as most movies are but lots of 'shadow detail' in there if you know how to pull it out & 'fix what they wrecked' at the $tudio LOL Add to that other tricks to get the surfaces looking like 'eye candy' & the 'robot fight scenes' become way more entertaining & glorious moving artwork. You can also make 'small noisy messy jagged' type videos from places like Youtube look really nice! =) You're no longer limited what is fun to watch by what it looks like 'originally', because you can tweak it to make it look like whatever you want. Rational people do not care about 'what the creators intended' but 'what the audience wants', like does it really matter what a plant thinks about your choice in food? They eat dirt! =)) What matters is what WE want, not 'what others might think'. The goal of forwarding certain 'political objectives' in 'media' using the 'fake peer pressure' nonsense of 'everybody does it so you should too' is really lame & very 'anti-artistic'. Just because they keep shoving gross people into 'film' doesn't mean it's a good idea or makes it more fun to watch. It does the opposite =P We can try to at least fix what we can, like when they mess up the colors & 'gamma curve', may as well adjust it to taste =) Don't 'just put up with it'. That's like 'tolerating' crime as if 'joining' with poison will 'make you stronger' HAHAHA

This is getting a bit 'philosophical, but it's interesting how 'artistic value' mirrors other things in society = the balances & conflicts of trying to make things more beautiful vs. more ugly & hateful, like they way they often drag things down purposely WA$TING tons of money on fancy effects & sets & stuff & then killing the mood by plopping some gross person in the scenes who REMOVES entertainment value from the result. A typical absolute proof of this 'self-sabotage problem' is the movie 'Big Bug' on Netflix where they pair a beautiful sleek young white French 'model-looking' gal with a fat ugly old black guy. The intent is do degrade civilization by 'normalizing' ugliness, like the whole 'fat pride' routine. They even pretend that 'curvy' = 'fat', & playing other 'word salad' games like 'U R a girl if U just chop off your weenie' HAHA Curvy is good (as in thick hour glass babe with a tiny waist =) Example . . .

Pretending we should want to watch ugly gross people is quite 'satanic', but hey it's 'free' to download so 'whatever' LOL There is overlap in the races & they could have easily found an infinitely more attractive black guy at any local basketball court, or some truly impressive ones if they just botered to even look around through legitimate 'casting' instead of 'anti-casting' (hiring 'homeless shelter reject looking people LOL). For those who pretend 2 think this suggestion of using ATTRACTIVE blacks is mean in some way it is of course obviously the exact opposite, like if they cast guys like this with her the thought would be 'WoW she really hit the jackpot there!' =)) . . .

Or better yet, make her black with another blackie, 2 more deeply explore their brown-tastic dark-tacular afro-gasmic-ness together = OH tha horror =)) Can't have a 'black couple' that is ATTRACTIVE & just living their lives instead of cheer leading 4 the extermination of white people, or a pretty white girl with a handsome white guy who isn't gay or fuk'd up in some other way = that wouldn't be 'progressive' enough. We must never forget . . .

Filling movies & stuff with goblin trolls is another trick like how the electric joo (((TV))) 'programs' zillions of brownies & other fools lining up 2 B "Satan's Sword" ~ Lyk dat so-kaL (((Gubba Mint))) really wan hep U owt, yo ~ break me off $um = LOL! . . .

So yeah lots of ways 2 improve movies & photos & all that good stuff, but only some of them we have the resources to do as customers with limited funds. Short of doing your own movies for bazillions of dollars, you can make them look a lot better than they already do, with tools to adjust everything to suit your personal preferences =) There seem to be about 3 different 'components' to tweaking images. I would call them the 'Light Balance' like adjusting the 'gamma curves' for overal 'Luminance' + the individual Red, Green, & Blue, then things like 'Noise Reduction & De-Banding' (which includes 'dithering' to ADD noise in certain ways 2 smooth stuff out with a nice 'texture' 4 a less 'plasticky' & more '3D' vibe), & lastly 'Warp Sharpening', which is a kind of 'interpolation' that draws edges with a smooth & artistic feel that can be really helpful when 'UP-Sampling' videos to make 'SD' (Standard Definition 'small' videos) look like 'HD' (1080p & such), etc. by getting rid of 'jaggies' =)

ProTip: When Shooting 4 'Web', Keep Visuals SIMPLE! =)

Tweaking images it's a lot like fiddling with audio, where most of 'sound quality' for playing movies & music can be controlled by adjusting the 'equalization' curves & 'dynamics' & 'bandwidths', etc.. In my setup I use freeware tools that run sounds through many levels of processing to get a 'righteous big theater feel' at any volume so don't feel the need to turn things up so much, making it easier on the ears while giving the 'emotional' impact of something much louder. The idea is to create a 'window' into the 'experience'. For me personally I tend 2 like 2 go 4 a 'Dreamy' feel as well = more 'Hypnotic' =) I'm not so much about 'absolute clarity' or 'dynamic range', but 'realism'. Like the whole 'Black Levels' contest in monitors & TVs these days is such a sick joke, like pretending you should rank a sound system mainly by how quiet it it is, or how loud it can go. How does it SOUND?! =))

It's important not to get caught up in 'numbers'. I don't care if an image is so 'bright looking' or has 'the best contrast ratio' so much but how 2 make it look 'Natural' overall = like something that is physical, with 'Weight' 2 it's 'Substance' & 'Texture' 2 it's 'Shape' = the whole '3D' vibe, like with audio 'imaging' between & around the various speakers & stuff so 'players' seem to float in space in positions like a real performance. You can also be artistic with it of course = turning it into something very different ~ whatever you want! =D Here's an original image that is cool but could be more interesting. . .
