Whenever I find a vid with something that can B improved (as in, messed up & needs help in some way  =)  it's like my 'video game' 2 discover trix 2 fix it, & of course more fun when looping cheesecake moves while ya' do!  =D  Chix spend loads of time & $ on makeup & fashion stuff & I like using various 'effects' on their finished videos to give them more natural sleekness.  I think the technical term is 'Remastering'.  Kyle's distant face in a certain shot there was instrumental in achieving the perfect 'depth' setting 4 almost ANY video!  I amend preset names with the clips that inspired them, like 4 instance the '2012' movie is really messed up in some ways so I fix it, then another vid exposes a different flaw & I fix that ~ eventually evolving into new methods 2 fix just about N E thing.  No 1 is 'always perfect 4 everything' but it's surprising how much 'overlap' there can B.  I dig discovering 'filter trains' that can B pretty much 'set & 4get' as a 'preset' 2 make most performances look & sound better ~ & it also raises the 'Hypno-Factor' like a '3D' vibe.  I saw the original broadcast of these & they looked WAAAY better than the U-Boob uploads.  

Typical SD 'back in the day' was NOT blurry or grainy or ever 'blocky'.  In fact cable companies & stuff these days purposely degrade SD like crazy 2 try & pretend it's a mess by nature & always was (as a trik 2 pimp pricier 'HD' $ervices), but I'm 'Ancient' enough 2 remember SD's-Awesomeness! =D  In fact I worked @ some 'High End' shops where people would pay bazillions 4 big CRT monitors with quite impressive pictures.  Textures were lush & smooth & colors radiant & 'luminous' ~ like some people chat up the natural vibe of certain 'plasmas' like the 'Pioneer Kuros' but CRT R even even beyond that sometimes.  It takes a lot of tweaking 2 get N E 'modern' monitor like a flat LCD looking anything approaching natural.  Mostly their gamma & saturation & color balance is a total mess but there R usually some ways 2 mod it (like an 'HDR' style 'S-Shaped' luminance curve).  

In the 'Resolution Race' note also 'Frame Size' & 'Detail' R really 2 different things, & detail doesn't always mean more beautiful.  Do we need 2 C every pore on a chix face?  It can actually B distracting, like looking through a magnifying glass in closeups LOL  + A typical DVD (480p or even less sometimes) is almost always WAAAY more detailed than N E '1080p' video online, because they compress it 2 much 2 save bandwidth. Sometimes greater detail can actually make something look worse.  Also notice even in the 'latest greatest' HD flix like 4K stuff there R loads of scenes with TONS of blur in them ~ I think even 2 much.  They call it 'bokeh' & C it as a 'direction' device 2 when they want the audience 2 only focus on the subject that is in focus.  It's even used in 'animated' features 2 help get some 'depth' 2 scenes when displayed in a 2D surface like a standard monitor, blurring tree branches or whatever that R further away as U move past, with closer 1's sharper = better sense of 'space'.  In other words, blur & 'smudging' & noise & stuff can B bad, but it is not the enemy & sometimes even enhances things, like how a little bit of noise helps break up 'blockies' in gradient transitions, but this is all quite technical stuff.  Time For More Cheesecake!  =D
