Training the Permaculture Trainers from Palestine
🌱 A Regenerative Response to Destruction
As food systems collapse and infrastructure is destroyed in Gaza and the West Bank, the need for community-based ecological knowledge is urgent. Permaculture design offers tools for food sovereignty, water harvesting, rebuilding local ecosystems, and restoring livelihoods.
In response to the ongoing crisis, scholarships are being organised to support five Palestinian change-makers to attend teacher trainings in permaculture. These individuals already work on the ground and are committed to the long-term restoration of land, communities, and cultural autonomy.
✈️ Where They’re Going

Three participants from the West Bank are set to join the Permaculture Teacher Training for Refugees in Greece at the Sporos Regeneration Institute.

Two participants from Gaza will attend a similar course in Sweden in October 2025 with the Nordic Permaculture Academy.
🌍 Why It Matters
Training in permaculture equips communities not only to survive, but to regenerate. In the face of apartheid, occupation, and ongoing bombardment, ecological education becomes an act of resistance and a strategy for renewal.
These five participants will return to their communities with skills to:

Restore degraded land

Establish food and water security

Share knowledge through teaching others

Build systems of resilience beyond humanitarian aid
