I learned to program in 1972...
my Hutch Tech High School
had 3 Computers.
An IBM 1130,
a DEC PDP-8e
and a Monroe Desktop
that took Assembler.
I studied Computer Electronics there,
Three Years, 90 minutes/day.
I had a PDP8-e Small Computer Handbook...
We learned Boolean Algebra in
10th grade... and used it.
We built all the Logic Gates
in several forms, RDTL,
DTL, and TTL Logic, including
things like Hall-Effect sensors
and Tunnel Diodes.
Then after 5 years of Pre-Med,
Psychology, and Italian,
I could only find a job in a Shoe Store, that a friend of mine from
our
Managed...
