One Word Instagram Captions

Instagram is definitely one of the most popular platforms for many influencers and businesses. It’s actually our favorite because it’s super easy-to-use and it has great features for brand promotion. Plus, you can post one word instagram captions, and still see incredible results!

We understand that sometimes your creativity may run dry, especially if you don’t have a team to back you up. Before our brand was big enough to have multiple people working on content, writer’s block was a regular occurrence. Having a list of funny and awe-inspiring words will definitely save your day!

However, not any word will do! You have to choose the right words that speak to your audience, those that pique their interest and leave them wanting more of your brand!

By developing a brand voice that defines your motivations, conversations, and quirks, it will be easier to decide which words you can use as one-word captions.

So, let’s begin by knowing how to develop a perfect brand voice.

Developing A Perfect Brand Voice

If there’s a good time to start thinking about developing your brand voice, it’s now. Let’s get you started with these tips!

#1 Analyze Sample Content

You probably have written a little content by now. Gather those you feel are the most unique, creative, and indicative of what kind of business you represent. These things embody your brand the most.

You can also take a look at a few examples from e-books, videos, infographics, blogs, podcasts, and more. If anything sounds similar to a competitor, ditch them out. You want to stand out from the crowd.

Start taking note of what you like and dislike, dissect the pieces and find the tone that resonates with your brand.

#2 Treat Your Brand Like A Friend

Try describing your brand just as how you would describe a friend. Is it friendly? Funny? Knowledgeable? You can pick at least 3-5 words that describe its personality. These words will set the tone of your future content.

#3 Give Your Description A Bit More Depth

Once you have chosen at least 3 words, describe it a little bit more in terms of how you communicate with your audience.

Here are some examples:

Trustworthy: engage genuinely, shows calmness even with negative feedback, knowledgeable and reassuring

Empowering: raising awareness among consumers, positive, and always encouraging

Eccentric: thinks outside the box, quirky, and fun. (Like puns!)

By having this guideline, it will be easy for you to decide on how to handle or communicate with your audience.

#4 Complete Your Outline with Do’s and Don’ts

Imagine your outline divided into four sections, the first one is your word characteristic. The second one is the description. The 3rd and 4th column should contain the do’s and don’ts.

Let’s say you want to be known as ‘trustworthy.’ Under your Do’s, you can include responding in a timely manner and being transparent about your shortcomings. The Don’ts are ignoring comments on social media and being overly political for income gain.

#5 There’s Always Room For Improvement

Like people, brands grow and our personality may shift and change for the better. It’s your role to revisit your content and make sure the tone and voice reflect the changes you make. Perhaps, your brand wants to highlight being eco-friendly or healthy living. Then, these changes should appear not just with your packaging or logo, but also in your content.

Here’s a quick list of one word captions for your next Instagram snapshot! Remember that adding emoji, or writing in all capital letters will make a difference in your brand tone, too! So that’s where you’ll have to figure things out for your brand.

Through the years, we’ve managed to understand what captions work best on social media platforms like Instagram. And we know that one-word captions get good engagement especially when it goes with a great image!

Does it get more engagement than lengthy ones?

Not necessarily! After all, you can’t tell a lot of things in one word, unless your graphics contain CTAs. But you’ll be surprised to know that snappy, quirky, and inspiring captions can actually stir up emotions that push people to take action -- maybe even smash the Like, Share, or Follow button!
