How to write texts to the Internet?

One of the basic differences between the text on a piece of newspaper or book and what we see every day on our screens is formatting. A skilled copywriter and editor of an online newspaper is aware of these differences, so it is a priority to ensure that the text looks its best.

This is of great importance - the online reader not only does not read the text, but only "flows" through it with his or her eyes. The proper arrangement of the material, division, will allow the reader to find information that interests him or her, and thus - will allow him or her to stay on our website for longer!

Let's also remember about eye-tracking research: how a reader scans an online text with his or her eyes is very different from reading classic books.

Transparency is also a common trick used by webwriters. They know that in order to deceive the reader, they have to edit the text so that he or she does not feel tired of reading. To achieve this, they divide the text into small paragraphs (usually containing one specific thread), add mid-titles (allowing you to judge whether or not the next paragraphs will interest you) and help the text with calculations. The latter are great for reading on the monitor: they not only organize the text, but also help to remember the most important information. Of course, titles are also important - their content mainly attracts readers.

It is also important to choose the right font, colour and background. The latter two aspects also have a colossal impact on the reception of the text. It is important to align to the left and to ensure that the lines do not stretch from left to right along the entire length of the screen. Copywriters also recommend creating short sentences. Sentences that have been repeatedly submitted are perfect for use in literature, not necessarily in usable texts. The longer the sentence, the faster the internet reader is discouraged, often losing the plot.

Write in real terms!

The basic principle of creating online texts is their factual and concise nature. No online reader will want to spend even the moment when they see a long text - the more content, the less attention! The specialists recommend shortening the finished text by ... 50%, even though it seems impossible, this will avoid unnecessary embellishments in the text and only the most important things will be "drawn" from it. It is worth applying the principle of the 'inverted pyramid' here, where we will devote most of our attention to the most important information, with a little less attention to detail and a little less to side threads. The experts suggest that webwriting should be like a good conversation - concise and factual.
