(Continued from here: https://justpaste.it/4enwk) I get the impression that the 'improvement' in sound (2 some) via 'burn in' with speakers & headphones is simply the result of PARTIALLY DE-magnetizing the things ~ just a little bit.  Alternating polarity is EXACTLY how 2 demagnetize tape machine heads & the rest, so Y not fixed magnets in drivers?  Makes perfect sense! =:-o  & since there is less 'Flux Force' remaining 2 push against, naturally it will not B as efficient, & have a 'looser' more 'retro' vibe 2 it (like reducing the damping factor in speakers by using really thin wire, or very small & weak magnets in the drivers), etc.

NOTE: Another headphone that sounds quite good & is not super-expensive is the 'Koss Porta Pro'.  Their sound is not really 'transparent', but very fun & warm (rather than jaggy or brittle vibe) = GR8 4 music & movies 2 'get lost in the space' =)  They are EXTREMELY uncomfortable though, & I had 2 twist the band up a lot just 2 get the drivers 2 lay flat against my ear ~ all this despite their ABSURDLY over-complicated 'floating bracket' thing with 'variable adjustment switches' LOL!!  If they simply gave them a wide band that held the drivers at a backward-tilted angle could DRASTICALLY simplify the design & DRAMATICALLY reduce price, while SIMULTANEOUSLY IMPROVING the appearance! =D   They also do not sound as good as the Pearl buds (original version) & don't go nearly as deep in the bass range (but really nothing can compete with good 'in-ears' like the Pearl Buds there, 2 B fair).

Their sound is not 'flat', but it's VERY nice ~ 'Lu$h & Luxuriou$' ~;-)  They could further improve it by venting under the center dome area (which they currently don't). It's like how the 'Auvio Pearl Buds' sound is further improved if U remove the silly 'build protector' shield that 'protects' the diaphram during assembly = totally pointless in an 'enclosed' ear bud design & just causes turbulence & dynamic compression & resonance issues.  MANY ear buds have such unnecessary features inside.  It's like the difference when you take speaker grilles off on a conventional design = the sound becomes that much clearer =)

So Y get so 'Obsessed' about headphones?  Well, 4 those of us who like big 'dramatic' sonic experiences it gives a VIABLE ALTERNATIVE 2 YUGE $peakers with big watts 4 that 'ThunderTown' vibe...

With the 'Pearl Bud$' having response down to 17Hz E Z, & lush '$peaker-like' performance, it FREES U 2 get that 'Cinematic' experience @ N E time without disturbing neighbors, & with TOTAL PORTABILITY! =D  It's also interesting how when U have truly deep, $olid Ba$$ with 'in-ear' ear buds (which actually go deeper & sound better than 'standard' headphones), there is a 'PsychoAcoustic' effect where U kind of 'FEEL' the bass, even though there is NO sound hitting your guts or N E thing outside your body like with conventional $peaker$ = Very Intere$ting! =D 

With GR8 Bud$ U also get 2 learn interesting stuff like 'This ear goes 2 16Hz but my other only 23 (or whatever) = boo hoo' LOL!!  It's like there is NOTHING, but then U switch ears (with same bud 2 check) & POOF!  There it is again HAHA  Nature is dirty & people R imperfect 4 'measurements', but THE ONLY ONES THAT REALLY MATTER!  $o keep thi$ in mind when 'De$igning'.  The way $omething $ound$ 2 a dead object like some 'Mea$urement Machine' is IRRELEVANT if the $OUND we 'Perceive' is WOR$E 2 a HUMAN BEING!  Ask yourself always, does it SOUND better or Worse?  When it's 'better', then move on to the next tweak, stacking tweak atop tweak, & eventually U end up with something dirt cheap AND Awe$ome like the Tubular Speakers pictured above! =8^D  More on that here:

Oh & 2 drive big speakers, a couple recommendation$ 4 all those seeking 'Ghetto Awe$ome' ~ it may NOT Impre$$ your 'Clique', & it may NOT give U that 'Bentley Bargain $ati$faxion' of an INSANELY overpriced product $elling 4 mere ABSURD markup (like marked 'down' $2,000, & still sounds worse than some old '70's Kenwood receiver!' HAHA), BUT they will give you EXCELENT sound for relatively cheap.  N E of these 'Traditional' circuit type Behringer amps like the 'EP2500' or most Crest $tuff (Peavey brand name variant) will give GR8 Re$ult$ & CERTAINLY better than N E of those Digi-Krap molasses 'Class D' & other 'Alphabet $oup' Fail Train$ ~ YEESH what a noise LOL  'Digital' amps tend 2 B oddly lacking in detail & with sludgy, fuzzy bass, rather than 'sledgehammer' rigid style bottomlessness =D
