The Mayo Clinic diet
A diet with simple and clear rules, provided for a fortnight. It is effective and provides plenty of protein and vitamins. It requires some self-denial, but there is usually no yoyo effect afterwards.
Opinions on the Mayo Clinic diet
I weigh about 63-64 kg (I am afraid to step on the scale...), I am 169 tall. I have followed various diets and from my experience I can tell you that if you go on an 800-1000 kcal diet for a while after this diet, you will not gain anything, plus your body will get used to larger and more valuable portions of food.
I know, I know, it's easy to write, and I myself am a victim of my own gluttony.... My love is chocolate with nuts (yum).... I generally love anything that contains chocolate and nuts.... And that's what lost me... I know this because apart from these sweets, I eat as healthy as possible, only dark bread, lots of vegetables, which I love....
For lunch I usually have a medium portion of dark rice with vegetables, during the day I eat at most 2 medium apples from fruit, meat I hardly eat at all.... With milk and dairy products I have the same thing.
Someone might say that it would be easier for me to give up sweets than to torture myself with diets, but I need a strong incentive to do so. Besides, I hope for quick results, because if I don't see results, I quickly get frustrated and start eating normally (i.e. something sweet is obligatory for breakfast and dinner...). :(
In the morning 2 eggs + green tea, around 2pm a turkey breast or fish (I threw it in the microwave) + a head of lettuce with lemon, around 7pm a combination of frozen vegetables (I counted the weight of the meals so as not to go below 800 kcal).
I drank still mineral water and green tea in large quantities. After 2 days, however, I hated lettuce and vegetables. Without salt sugar and other additives-it was all like hay. After 4 days I could already eat it all, especially as the weight started to drop. After the diet I passed 86 kg.
And what to do next.
There was enough enthusiasm for another 2 weeks of healthy eating. But, surprisingly, despite returning to unhealthy eating, I'm now 88kg - meaning the yo-yo doesn't work. The ladies, probably apart from the weight, will like the fact that my complexion has improved :). Cheers to those who persevere and those who keep trying - I'm sure it will work."
I have followed the Mayo Clinic diet twice and it has paid off each time. The first time I lost about 7-8 kg. The second time I followed the diet exactly one year later, I lost 5 kg. The second time, from what I have heard, you don't lose as much as the first time. A friend did the same and lost 7 kg the first time and 5 kg the second time. I followed the diet very strictly! I mean I never ate anything off the menu, not even the smallest piece.
I have been on this diet and let me tell you it was worth it. I lost 8 kg in 14 days. I measure 160 cm, and before starting the diet I weighed 56 kg. :( Now I weigh 48 kg and I am happy about it!!! (juupiiii!). If you are starting the diet, I recommend endurance!!!
During the first 3 [days] I was constantly hungry, I felt like eating everything I could get my hands on, but self-denial and the idea of what I would look like after the diet were stronger than me. I wasn't tempted to break the diet, which I'm proud of. In the following days I got used to it and didn't feel hungry at all, even though I ate the same as I did for the first three days, so it's worth the effort for those three days.
