Hawthorn tincture

Hawthorn strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure because it dilates the blood vessels, has an antispasmodic effect, is a sleep aid and an antipyretic. It also has a beneficial effect on the vessels of the brain and, thanks to their dilatation, the amount of oxygen brought with the blood and nutrients increases. This counteracts anaemia of the brain.

Hawthorn also has a diastolic effect on the urinary tract and this results in a slightly increased urinary excretion. Thus, there is a decrease in blood pressure when it is of renal origin. If hawthorn preparations are used in the doses recommended by specialists, there are no harmful side effects. Hawthorn is not recommended for low blood pressure, and its fruit has an astringent effect and dissolves lithiasis.
