The COVID-19 Pandemic

As with all pandemics, our symptoms are the product of our past actions. Rather than die out after some period of intense suffering and death, the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified.

Most likely, a small minority of us will perish in a variety of ways; but the majority will survive and be stronger for it. Because we have limited resources, however, our activities will remain the same.We will still eat, sleep, and talk — with small modifications in some of the things we do.

 

In this scenario, we will live a shortened life span, but it won’t be an unusually short life span. By the time we see the last day on our calendar, the average age of life on this planet will have not only risen above 75 years but will have climbed above 80.

The Challenges of Remote Work

No matter what, we need to ensure our loved ones’ safety. There are, however, several challenges to remote working. Before you jump at the chance to work from home, think long and hard about whether you’re ready for the rigours of a remote lifestyle.

Lack of Psychological Support While you’ll never be without access to colleagues, the transition can be tricky. Without having to explain your every move, employers and customers won’t know how to approach you. It’s a major adjustment, and you might feel weird about it at first, but in the long run, you’ll have a much better work/life balance and make more money, too.
