Do you think it wold be awesome if somebody would preserve & maintain, honor & cherish, nurture & protect, advance & optimize your 'slow used junk' PCs instead of them eventually getting tossed out, parted down & 'mulched' for 'scrap'?  I'm the 1 2 do it!  =D  I'm a great resource for 'Retro Computing' & will continue to be for many years to come.  I only want certain models though, like these and also the Dell OptiPlex 755 MT among a few others, because they sound awesome and the chips on them are not even available as 'add-on' sound cards for use in 'modern' machines, so it's sort of a 'happy accident' in design = true 'Hi-Fi' for peanuts.  They're about 1/10 the speed of modern machines for 3D rendering & transcoding type stuff but they can play Blu-ray & even 4K so not 2 shabby.  Like my preference for glossy screen monitors, they have some cool advantages but also disadvantages so not for everyone.  I combine things with music gear into cheap rental systems for poor musicians & hobbyists mostly.  My main thing is flipping houses.  Some guys are into building 'Monster Trucks' or whatever.  I'm into 'UPcycling' stuff like this ...

In A Bright Room They Can Be Annoyingly Mirror-Like & Ridiculous ...
But In A Dark Room It Can Be Like Looking Through An Open Window

The Lack Of 'Fuzzy' Coating Helps Improve Clarity & 'POW!'  =8^D

I accept them for free ~ certain Dell PCs, glossy HP monitors (among others), and many different things you may want to donate.  You can drop them off in front of my garage in Grover Beach any time ~ no rush, or depending on where you are located I can maybe pick yours up or arrange for shipping, depending on 'bulk lot efficiency' (contact for details). Helps 'upcycle' the 'obsolete' and 'saves them from the landfill' ~;-) These machines are often available in bulk lots on pallets for less than $10 each, even on Ebay. Even the model above this for example the T3500, which is much faster, last bulk lot was about $11 per unit. Lowest I've seen the T3400 as sales go is $5 each from many government auctions. I also get them free, like for instance my first one I got on the sidewalk as a giveaway, which is how I 'discovered' I like them, & same story with the Dell OptiPlex 755 MT. I guess $5 per unit is like a standard price government auctions like for 'mystery machines'?

I would love as many as you have or can get. They have a specific combination of flexible features I like & I want to put together a rental business once I have enough of them for consistency (easy to mirror if all the same thing, basically). The reason you or others may want to get rid of them is by modern standards they are very 'slow', and rather large and heavy too.

Please if you know anybody who may have these, business, government, education, medical, or any other place who can get them for donation, that would be great so please spread the word around =D My goal is to have hundreds of them or even many more. They probably sold in the 'bazillions'. Dell are extremely popular with businesses because of their leasing and service contracts I guess. I notice they are more popular than HP or IBM for instance, in terms of number of units out there it seems.

Very Durable, +'Classy Profe$$ional' Looking  ~;^D

& Very Flexible, From PCI 'Legacy' & Even Serial & PS2!  =:-o

Here are things I definitely do NOT like about them (why you may not want to keep yours?):
~ Slow, like VERY slow by modern standards = like, oh please no... but hey, free so can't complain =)) Fast enough for playing HD videos though so OK =D Can even do some gaming as can take long cards, but not cutting edge ones.
~ Bit noisy compared to Dell OptiPlex 755 MT & similar (which have larger single CPU fan so spins slower)
~ Not as sleek/pretty looking as the OptiPlex series mentioned
~ Very heavy compared to most PCs
~ No built-in digital video output, or video of any kind, so have to use add-on card, which are never as stable as Intel 'onboard' video chips. I notice this with things like 'FFDShow' video filters = can crash when switching presets in certain ways, which is rare with Intel but common with ATI / nVidia. Have to do 'hacks' to work around that.
~ No USB3 type 'modern' ports, or firewire, HDMI or 'Display Port' video built in (must have card = can be buggy).
~ Sound recording of 'mixer output' disabled (hack around it again =)
~ Counter-intuitive 'puzzle box' construction for front face related items, typical of 'proprietary design name brands' takes a look at manuals to figure out how to remove front, drives, etc. (not very 'customer friendly' for cleaning, etc.)

'Horizontal' Bezel Option 4 Rack & Other & Preferences  ~;-)

If you are curious, here are some features they have that I like:
~ All metal case (durable)
~ Bezel change lets them orient horizontally if desired
~ Standard height/width can mount in standard rack easily
~ Solid metal front 'grille' (scratches don't show much, & hard to break)
~ Black painted sides & top (easy to touch up scratches)
~ 3 'Legacy' PCI slots (2 full length, 1 half)
~ 2 full length PCIe slots (for video)
~ Card 'side stabilizer/retainer' thingy helps align & seat them well.
~ 'Screwless' card installation & removal (stuff just clips open & closed in place)
~ Screwless case design (quick & easy to open to swap hard drives, RAM & cards, etc.)
~ Great natural sound (AD1984 chip + separate 'discrete' headphone amp)
~ Space for big radiator (if large heat sink not already included, I can get separately)
~ Fairly quiet (though not as quiet as many Optiplex models)
~ PS2 mouse & keyboard inputs (for 'Legacy' gear, when desired)
~ 2X 3.5" 'drive' bays
~ 2X 5.25" drive bays
~ Strong power supply (OK for most big video cards)
~ Full support for Windows XP (no 'drive' problems =) Yes all my stuff runs XP, with 'Legacy' hardware (can get cheap or free)
