The conversation should now focus on Deborah Bowie and members of the City commission by asking if any of the missing $41,000 (or other funds) is a result of actions taken by Bowie as interim City manager or in her former position as Gainesville's Chief of Staff. What was the motive for City commission's preference for the most questionable candidate (Bowie) above the other 2 candidates - Michelle Park and Steve Varvel?

Did the commission place Bowie in the job in order to provide coverup for Reichert House crimes that went beyond the missing $41,000?  Should the State attorney's office investigate further?

Bowie's history of financial coverup combined with her admission that she (like Park and Varvel) would not be considering the City manager job as a permanent position suggests ulterior motives by members of the commission.
