Many of these gels dry up the mucosa that forms the vaginal lining, which reduces lubrication. You will experience greater friction and stimulation if you do not use lubricant, but this is not because your vagina is "tighter." This friction can eventually become unpleasant and can result in microtears and other tissue damage, leaving the vagina exposed to infection and inflammation. Vaginal tightening gels or virginity gel may also produce acute swelling of vaginal tissues, which may be misinterpreted as "tightening," however these effects are transient.
