- Level 1: this is mainly for all them traditionalists who preach the importance of the natural order. As such, all these powers can be turned completely off except for the option to turn them on again.
1) a suite of customizable immortality powers:
one that doesn't let you get hurt beyond a scratch (daeva + limboites),
one that lets you reset on the spot when hurt beyond a certain point (torching),
one that simply takes you to level 2 once you die,
and one that makes you unaging after you turn 20 but still vulnerable to assasins and such (can be combined with level 2 ).
You can switch at any point. By default, it is set to daeva/beyond-a-scratch.
The daeva and the resetting takes care of hunger, need to sleep, thirst, etc.
2) if you have cancer or there is anything else wrong with your body (being transgender counts), you can choose to heal it.
3) People can decline to have a baby.
Level 2:
1) all the stuff from level 1
- except the gender thing, here you can switch back and forth even if you're not actively trans.
- As such, even two people of the same sex can have a baby.
- If both people strongly prefer to be men, or the woman who is carrying the baby has a tough pregnancy, they can choose to keep the baby in a subspace pocket attached to one of the parents with all the nutrients and in ideal conditions.
2) arbitrary shapeshifting:
- new senses
- new species of animals
- different genes (nature vs nurture solved!)
- saving and sharing forms
- public form catalogue
- a turn-on turn-off recognition feature (since you don't keep your face, there needs to be a way to recognise you: this is basically a sensation that you've met the person and fake face recognition with people you see a lot)
3) "blocking" an object, creature, or person. Making them not exist to you and vice versa.
+ Three levels:
- Physical: neither of you can touch or do anything to the other, tools are also affected.
- Sensory: neither of you can sense the other.
- Informational: all information about the subject is censored to you. (Friend cannot relay insults, etc.)
+ Unblocking involves consent of all sentient parties involved in the block.
- (If Alice blocks Bob, but then wants to talk to him and he doesn't, she can't do it.)
- (Each person can attempt to unblock the other, and then the other gets a notification in their head, and if they agree to unblock too, the block vanishes.
- Might work for child abuse? Needs better fix.
+ Private property is by default blocked (with everything inside it) to anyone but the owner and whoever lives there. People can invite other people in.
- the fact that this is a thing allows a house to take up only the amount of space needed for a door. (The door is the only part of the house that can be seen from the outside, without being the owner: the rest is sensorily blocked)
- everyone receives a minimum of one conjured from nothing house.
4) "ownership magic"
+ ownership of an item is magically backed up: you cannot take it or use it without permission
+ An owner can share something under limits and restrictions, or they can give it away completely
+ An owner can find their item if it is lost
+ An owner can fix/clean their item by restoring it to an earlier state
+ An owner can block the item for people (ie make it behave like it's blocked by them, except without an unblock feature)
5) there is a pollution ban (as in, it just doesn't happen)
6) flight, teleportation (to places one is allowed in), temporary portals to one's conjured home
7) brainphone (a phone in your brain!) Supports "calls", "texts", "internet".
- You can chat to everyone you know (who is not blocked), or search for someone (by topic, by approx location, etc) to chat to!
- Group chat, anonymous users, record feature, and much more!
- Additionally, supports in-your-head note taking (thoughts, senses, words, pictures, etc.)
9) pocket dimensions:
+ Subworld type: anyone can find it and come live there. It can have any society structure, building aesthetic, or culture the designer wants. For example, you could choose to live on a cloud or in a dome under the sea. However, choosing to live in a Hogwarts subworld gets you just the castle and possibly sentient creatures: there are no wizards or magical items.
+ Virtual Reality type: this is the thing you want if you want to experience Hogwarts. Can do an interactive iteration of any book/game/cartoon/movie you care to name, also supports sharing this with other people, supports records of what happened in any format, you can also create your own world and your own characters for it, basically the best thing ever for fiction nerds.
- your body remains where it was when you entered the VR, unlike the Subworld.
- if the story requires that you be able to die or somesuch for the full experience, once you are hurt/mind controlled/etc you get thrown out of the VR and can choose to continue or not to.
- this mechanic also allows for there to be additional magic without messing with things.
10) There is either a money mechanic there or it is handled by owning money. Not sure yet.
Level 3: not fully designed, but allows for pretty arbitrary magic.
(Maybe has a gift economy? :D )
