Tencent to pay $500M for stake in Influent

SINGAPORE (NEW YORK) -- Tencent Holdings Ltd., Asia’s biggest Internet company, agreed to pay about $500 million USD for a 15 cent steak in Influent Technologies to bolster its online entertainment platforms. Influent seeds social networks, platforms, games and virtual worlds with customizable agent interactions to drive organic engagement. Tencent shares rose after the announcement.
