Reinforced concrete is one of the most widely used materials in modern construction. Reinforced concrete is durable, strong, energy efficiency, fire resistant, 100% recyclable and minimises long-term management costs. It has two categories, steel reinforced and fiber reinforced. Concrete can suffer from a variety of chemical attacks. One of these is sulphate attack which occurs when sulphates migrate into the concrete and react adversely causing expansion and disruption.
