The UN SDG Action Awards are a special initiative by the United Nations Development Programme and is an inter-agency initiative of the UN Secretary General to scale up and broaden the global action for Sustainable Development goals. These are organized by the UN SDG Action Campaign. The sustainable development goals are now a part of over 142 nations and have attracted over 2750 applications since 2018. There have been more than 64 initiatives from the transmedia series that illustrate the impact of climate change. There have been various poetry programmes and even youth theatres that discusses the taboos of society like sexual and reproductive health, cleaning up ocean plastic, blockchain platforms that connects entrepreneurs from across the world and much more. They have been honoured for their contribution towards the acceleration of the SDG action goals.
