Aleppo - Amaq News Agency: The strategic Aleppo - Khanasir road witnesses unabated fervent battles since the assault of Islamic State forces on various positions of Syrian regime forces last Monday.

Fierce battles were witnessed on Friday in the north and south of Khanasir, where Syrian regime forces and supporting Shiite militias coming from Aleppo in the north were able to open the road to Khanasir after ferocious battles, during which Islamic State forces turned away from the south of Khanasir and captured the village of al-Hamam and its strategic mountain, as well as the areas of al-Maqla' and al-Magharah, which continues to cut the road connecting Hamah and Aleppo for the fifth consecutive day.

The assault operation on the village of al-Hamam and its mountain lead to 38 killed regime troops and militiamen, as regime troop concentrations in al-Magharah fled towards Khanasir. Likewise, Islamic State forces seized a T-72 tank, a Katyusha multiple rocket launcher, two Shilkas, a number of mortars, and a quantity of ammunition during the assault. The amount of losses, which resulted from the battles against the convoys coming from the north, are unknown.
