Renewable energy means as the name suggests the energy, which can be renewed, or in another words energy which can be replenished. There will be an unlimited supply of energy from the resources always, no fear that it will get exhausted as in the case of non-renewable resources. Wind, Wave, Hydroelectric, Geothermal and Sunlight are most common forms of renewable resources.

Blowing wind rotates the wind turbines, which are in turn used to generate electricity. Generators are connected to these turbines, which help in generation of electricity, which can store the energy as well. As the wind will never stop its blow, we can relay on it to an extent. The best example available as far as the renewable resources are concerned is the sunlight. Sun started shining billions, perhaps trillions of years ago still it continues to play its role and let’s hope so in near future. Solar panels play a major role in capturing the sunlight. They convert the light energy to electrical energy. The application of the solar panels comes in some watches to big satellites. Another form of renewable resource is water; the energy generated from water is termed as hydroelectric energy. The flowing water from water bodies are stagnated as in dams and is allowed to fall from heights, which in turn rotates a turbine. This turbine is connected to a generator, which in turn produces electricity.

The major advantage of using the renewable resources is that it saves a lot of money if we exempt from the installation charges and other initial expenses. It thoroughly cut downs the monthly current bills and indirectly adds on to your family income. Another major advantage to the nature is that it doesn’t cause any pollution as the non-renewable forms. Take the case of coal, which is a non-renewable energy resource. It emits smoke and other chemicals when burned to make electricity. Take the case of nuclear power plants. These non-renewable resources again create radioactive waste that is dangerous for thousands of years, in the form of radiations. Take the case of petrol or diesel when burned to generate electricity or in our automobiles can cause a huge amount of pollution; this is yet another example which we see in our day today lives. It is the case of the gas or LPG. But Wind, Wave, Hydroelectric, Geothermal and Sunlight will never cause any forms of pollution to be sure. If we make use of the renewable forms of energy quite often we can use the non-renewable forms of energy when there is a situation in which we can’t avoid its usage. We can come to the conclusion that the advantages of renewable resources outcomes its disadvantages so we must better go for renewable resources rather than wasting the non-renewable resources.
