The Open Payments CMS is managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. That was established to enhance transparency in financial relationships between health care providers and manufacturers of pharmaceutical or medical devices. Manufacturers must disclose any payments or other transfers of value made to physicians and teaching hospitals.
