The National Talent Search Exam (NTSE), formerly known as the NSTSS (National Science Talent Search Scheme), is a national scholarship test designed to detect and improve students’ talents, logical thinking, and mental abilities.

Every year, for class 10 pupils, an all-India competitive examination is held in two stages: Stage 1 (State-Level) and Stage 2 (National-Level). If an applicant wishes to be considered for the scholarship, he or she must pass both tests.

For the NTSE 2022 test, students have the option of applying both

online and offline. Students studying in India, as well as those studying in other countries, are both eligible to take the NTSE.

For Students Studying Abroad, NTSE Eligibility Criteria

Under the following NTSE eligibility criteria, Indian citizens studying abroad can take the NTSE exam:

  • If the candidate is currently enrolled in class 10th or equivalent, he or she is automatically qualified for Stage 2.
  • A minimum of 60% on class IX final examinations is required of the candidate.
  • An examination centre in India must be chosen by the candidate.
  • He/she must submit a request to the Department of Educational Survey Division, NCERT, along with the verified class IX mark sheet from the institution where he/she is studying.
  • Only if the candidate continues his or her studies in India is he or she eligible for the scholarship.

Factors that affect a good score

WBCSC calculates the cut off marks for the NTSE in

2022 by considering the following factors:

  • A number of applicants applying for NTSE — The number of candidates applying for NTSE is another element considered when determining the cut off marks for NTSE 2022. If there are a lot of applicants, the cutoff will be higher, and vice versa.
  • The NTSE exam’s difficulty level — The exam’s difficulty level plays a vital part in determining the NTSE cut off marks.
