It’s a huge privilege and absolutely life-changing honor to be recruited by the Nigerian Police. Recruitment for the Nigeria police is currently at 128,684 people. This is about 60% of Nigerians who are unemployed and looking for jobs.

If you want to join, you need to meet the requirements set by the Nigerian Police Recruitment Board (NPRB). The requirements, which are detailed in this post, include educational qualifications, physical fitness levels, police training academies entrance exams including written tests and interviews.

 

Requirements For the Job

To give you the best chances, we’ve taken a detailed look at the documentation required to be completed by applicants.

The documents needed are:

1. National Diploma or its equivalent (NCE) from a recognized university or college. This is require for entry level officers and entrance exam candidates to meet the minimum requirements for Police Training Academies entrance examinations.

2. Enrolment Certificate/Certificate of Recognition (ECR)/Certificate of Academic Excellence (CARE) from the Nigerian National Open University (NNOU). For NCE holders only, they need to submit a copy of their ECR/CARE before enrolling in Police Training Academies.

However, for online/distance education applicants, they don’t require ECR/CARE to enrol in the Police Training Academies.

3. Statement of purpose (Statement of Purpose) or an essay on your proposed career objectives and aspirations within the Nigerian Police Service. If you have an essay, attach it here and send it to us via email at info@npf.gov.ng or print out the attached PDF .

4. Photographs of yourself with a clear head shot in uniform holding a copy of your statement of purpose and application form signed by you in front of a white background .

5. Two passport photographs (full frontal view) with white background.

 

6. Photocopy of the following documents: National Identity Card or Voter’s Card, NCE certificate/diploma, O level, JSS certificate with date of birth certificate and extract.

 

7. Certified True copy of result of WAEC/GCE (A/L) Examination, Polytechnic admission letter with date of birth and university prospectus for first degree holders only.

 

How to apply for the Job

To apply for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, applicants should follow these steps:

1. Download and print the Recruitment Brochure from this portal: www.policerecruitment.gov.ng

2. Read through the brochure to confirm whether you meet the requirements for the job and if yes, proceed to get your application form below: www.npf.gov.ng (Make sure you select “Police Recruitment”)

3. Fill in your application form after reading thoroughly the instructions.

4. Wait for one working day for it to be processed. Your email will be sent to you once your completed Form is received. Please ensure that you check your emails.

5. Once your Form is processed and a confirmation letter is sent to you, please read the details in the letter and proceed to attach all the required documents specified for each category (i.e: List of Documents to be Attached for General Recruitment).

6. Once all documents have been properly attached, we will enable payment online & print out a order form ready for dispatch before it reaches you through registered courier sponsors (priority).

Finally, you will be able to download and print the card for first and second stage of testing and training.
