Note to Libraries...
From: Chuck Darling

Since the advent of
the World Wide Web,
Libraries have put
their CATALOG
online, and
discontinued the
hand-typed
Library Catalog...
Consider:
In the event of
long-term power problems,
or Internet Server Problems...
You will have NO CATALOG !
As we enter the AI age,
it would now be a simple thing
to produce a file of
Card Catalog Card images,
which could be stored
on LOCAL COMPUTER DRIVES,
and could be used to
Print an updated Card Catalog.
In the event of Internet Failure,
the local data stored in
Library books
Would become our data backup.
It would be silly to have
Thousands of Libraries
across the country,
with no Catalog
available at the time
that they would be
Vitally needed.
Make a Card Catalog
Image file now,
and look into
Printing equipment
that could reproduce
your physical Catalogs.
You did THIS:
I'm not suggesting that you
Hand-Type Millions of cards
for your Library...
I'm urging you to find
a Printer manufacturer
that could design
a Card-Catalog Printer
for your Locally Stored Images.
Pale cream acid-free 98 lb. card stock
Smooth perforations for easy card separation and clean edges
Drilled for guide rods
8 1/2" x 11" with three cards per sheet
Finished card is 3"H x 5"W
250 sheets per package (750 cards total)
Compatible with: Amlib, BIB, CCC, CAC, CD, CRS, LH, LS, LWK, MC, P1, RM, UC, WINN
That's all you'll have
if the internet fails.
News..?

News ?
Today, Wednesday, March 18,
The Radio announced that
they euthanized a bear, that had
attacked two elderly people this year.
I think it's the third day they're
reporting it...
They're reporting again
that the Iranian Security chief,
responsible for the deaths of
thousands of Iranian protesters,
and who had run Iran for years,
was killed.
They reported Mr. Kent's resignation,
for the last several days.
They said the FBI refused to comment.
They reported that it will be
warm tomorrow, for the last
several days.
They reported that Cesar Chavez
was a sex abuser of young girls,
and they want to take his name
off roads and schools.
Cesar Chavez day is cancelled.
I find it hard to believe
that there is no news ...
What about this ?
NASA will roll Artemis 2 moon rocket out to the launch pad on March 19
NASA is still aiming to launch SLS during an Artemis 2 window that lasts from April 1-6. The mission is the first crewed installment of NASA's Artemis program, and the first flight of the Orion spacecraft with astronauts onboard.
The shakedown cruise will fly NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day trip around the moon on the first crewed mission to lunar space in more than half a century.
