Hitting the brakes rather hard, Madonna blasting from the speakers, the blonde smiled down at the dashboard. This one was far nicer than the cars she usually . . . ‘found’, and the cassette tape collection was a clear indicator to her that the car would last quite a while. Whoever had abandoned it clearly had taste, and everything was in such an organized fashion that there was no chance the car was poorly taken care of. No, whoever had left such a beauty on the side of the road was a blessing in disguise for the young woman, and pulling the keys out of the ‘76 Firebird, her eyes turned to the Family Video before her.
“Next up, some entertainment.” Stepping out of the car, Chelle pulled her large sunglasses down onto her face. Her light jeans contrasted against the dark heels she wore, and her neon pink tank top could barely be seen underneath the old 70s fur jacket she had on. Sure, it was a little warm for that, but it was necessary for what she had planned. Locking the door to the car, she made a mental note to grab a keychain before walking into the store, head high. It didn’t take her long to push her sunglasses to the top of her head, curls framing around her face as she did, and a single glance around told her that the brunette behind the counter was the only worker that day.
Perfect.
“I’m good, thanks~.” Cutting off her greeting, Chelle smiled at her before starting off to the far corner wall. The selection was far greater than she had expected, too, but as she scanned the aisle for anything that sounded interesting, she made sure to keep her head low. Five minutes passed, and finally, her eyes landed on a movie she had been meaning to watch for years: E.T.
Picking it up off the shelf, she held it against her chest before standing up and continuing down the shelf. She planned on grabbing more than one, but if she grabbed too many too quickly, it would look suspicious. She could practically hear Michael in her ear, telling her to be careful, but she had learned from the best, and a single glance over her shoulder told her that the brunette had turned her gaze away from Chelle for just long enough. The movie was slipped inside of the jacket and into one of the custom-added large pockets, and she continued down the aisle, searching for the next title on her list.
