Silicon Nitride Waveguides

promise to increase Laser Bandwidth 10x.

 

The implication for FiberOptic data transmission is 10x throughput.

 

Of course, the laser transmitters, repeaters,

and receivers will have to be replaced...

 

I have concerns that certain grades of

FiberOptic cable might not be up to the task... (plastic...)

 

Critical bend angles of FiberOptic  Cables

will have to be re-examined.

 

Trans-Oceanic cables would benefit

from the increased bandwidth.

 

I think the primary immediate use

will be in SuperComputer internal data connections, in Data Centers.

 

Al Gore's Internet Superhighway could

be revamped with the new tranceivers,

giving a big improvement in National

Internet Infrastructure.

 

Satellite Uplink-Downlink would benefit

too, with NEW EQUIPMENT...

 

This development will have a big long-term

effect on the Tech Sector..!
