As Eddie refuses to stop, Demona lets out a small sigh, leaning back in the seat with her arms crossed. It isn't that she doesn't trust Eddie's driving, but more about how the storm is only getting worse as they drive. It had been fine when they had been able to see, and even with his eyesight likely enhanced with his new abilities, she knew that it was only a matter of time before the road disappeared entirely. There were no street lights in this part of the country, and the headlights on the van were their only guide.
The van hit another puddle, and the blonde gripped the seatbelt again before glancing over at her fiance. His tone had suddenly shifted some, but rather than retort with a question on how she was supposed to see a sign for a hotel or a town, she just nodded, mumbling a small 'yeah' under her breath before turning her eyes back to the window. Typically, storms like this were comforting to Demona, but typically she was inside a house during them, not in the middle of nowhere in a van. There wasn't enough light to read her book, and the music was barely loud enough to be heard over the crack of thunder that shook the windows. They needed to pull over, and after a brief moment of hesitation, Demona reached onto the dash where the map had been discarded early in their trip.
Opening it up, Demona hunched over the paper in a desperate attempt to read it. It was only due to the various lightning flashes that she was able to pick out anything at all, and trailing along the road with her finger, she tried her hardest to read the names of different locations. Unfortunately, the storm had made all street signs unreadable, and after a few minutes of desperately trying to figure out where they were, the blonde sighed, tossed it back into the back of the van, and turned her gaze to the side of the road. Maybe she would be able to see something other than darkness and trees soon . . .
