were brilliant, plentiful, and inexpensive.

 

Bring back Dollar Comic Books.

They were 12 cents when I was a kid.

I collected about 300 of them,

and saved them for my son.

I saved all my Matchbox and Hot Wheels

for him, too.

He used to carry them around in a plastic bucket...

Shared experience, and it didn't cost

us a dime.

 

Comic Books supported themselves

with Advertising...

When Disney bought Marvel Comics,

they foolishly fired Stan Lee.

(Stan Lee created Spider-Man, The Hulk,

Iron Man, and the Fantastic Four...)

 

DC comics talked down to their readers...

After you read each comic a dozen times,

you read the editorials...

 

Ask your kid to read these editorials out loud.

 

19% of high school graduates in the US can't read.

 

85% of juveniles in the US court system are functionally illiterate.

 

70% of inmates in the US prison system can't read above a 4th-grade level.
