Facebook has over 2 BILLION users.

 

While that's great for Ad revenue,

it's a logistical nightmare trying to

stay on top of how users are

misusing the platform.

 

When the topic of Russian Troll groups

(IRA: St Petersburg)

came up, they were caught flat-footed.

 

Publicly, they claimed to have

the situation under control 

 

They didn't.

 

It took them MONTHS to come

up with search analysis

that documented the misuse.

 

Called Project P (for Propaganda)

Facebook's internal security

eventually found:

A Russian group

known as the

Internet Research Agency (IRA)

had purchased more than 3300

Facebook ads...

Costing about $100,000...

Using 120 IRA Facebook pages...

and 80,000 pieces of 'organic content'...

and had reached

126 million Americans

through the mindless efficiency

of Facebook's Trending Algorithm.

 

It was the Facebook Algorithm

that delivered the ads, not the Russians themselves...

 

Since Obama had studied

Isis's use of Facebook in

Propaganda and Recruitment,

 

I think that this situation should be

re-examined...

 

And the Facebook Trending Algorithm should be strongly

Scrutinized ...

 

Because similar Propaganda

events involving Extremist Groups

are still happening.

 

The MalActors are using Facebook

as their own personal Global Megaphone.
