PDF Converter - Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how the PDF Converter mobile application (the “App”) handles information when you download, install, and use it. By using the App, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use and uninstall the App.
This Policy applies only to the App. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or integrations you may access through links or features that are not operated by us.
1. Our Approach to Privacy
We designed PDF Converter with a privacy-first mindset:
-
Minimal collection by default. The App is intended to work without requiring you to create an account or provide direct personal identifiers in normal use.
-
Diagnostics over profiling. When information is collected, it is generally limited to technical and diagnostic signals that help us maintain and improve the App.
-
Trusted third-party tools. We may rely on reputable providers (for example, analytics and crash-reporting SDKs) to understand performance, stability, and reliability.
-
Separation from third parties. Any third-party services you access independently (such as linked websites) operate under their own privacy policies.
2. Technical Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, certain technical information may be collected automatically. This data is primarily used to keep the App stable, detect errors, and improve the overall user experience. The technical information may include:
-
device type, device model, and operating system version;
-
App version, build number, installation details, and basic configuration state;
-
language settings and approximate region (for example, country-level settings);
-
anonymized or pseudonymous identifiers (such as the Advertising ID), where available and permitted by your device settings and applicable laws;
-
diagnostic signals such as crash reports, performance metrics, error logs, reliability indicators (for example, launch time), and memory or responsiveness signals.
We typically receive this type of information through third-party services (for example, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics) configured to support diagnostics and improvement.
3. Why We Use This Information
We use the information described in this Policy for the following purposes:
-
Stability and reliability. To detect crashes, diagnose errors, measure reliability, and improve performance.
-
Product enhancement. To understand broad feature usage and navigation patterns at an aggregated level, so we can refine the App experience.
-
Security and misuse detection. To identify suspicious activity or abuse patterns where relevant, and to help protect the App and users.
-
Customer support. To respond to questions or troubleshoot issues when you reach out to us.
We do not use the collected technical data to create detailed personal profiles about you. We also do not use it to deliver interest-based advertising within the App.
4. Information You Choose to Provide
In some situations, you may voluntarily provide information to us.
Support and Communications
If you contact us by email or through an in-app support channel (if available), we may receive and process:
-
the content of your message and any details you include;
-
your email address (if you contact us directly by email);
-
any screenshots, attachments, or diagnostic information you decide to share.
We use this information only to communicate with you, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and improve the App based on user feedback and observed problems. We do not request unnecessary personal information for support, and you should avoid sending sensitive data unless it is required to address your request.
5. Local Storage on Your Device
The App may store certain settings and preferences locally on your device so that it functions properly and remains convenient to use. Examples may include:
-
security or access preferences (such as lock settings), if enabled in your version of the App;
-
interface preferences and configuration choices;
-
reminder options or similar settings, if those features exist in your version.
This locally stored information remains on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you intentionally share it (for example, when you send diagnostic details to support or include screenshots/attachments in a message).
6. App Permissions and Device Features
PDF Converter is built to operate without requesting special device permissions.
The App does not require access to your camera, photo library, microphone, precise location services, contacts, Bluetooth, or biometrics to function. The App does not rely on Face ID / Touch ID (or other biometric authentication) and does not request biometric permissions.
If a future version of the App introduces a feature that requires a device permission, your operating system will request your consent at the time the feature is used. You can decline or later revoke permissions in your device settings; however, features that depend on those permissions may not work unless you explicitly enable them.
7. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Payment Handling
If the App offers paid features, purchases and subscriptions are processed by the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store your payment card details.
We may receive limited purchase-related signals (for example, subscription status, entitlement state, and/or storefront/region indicators) strictly to:
-
enable premium features you purchased;
-
prevent subscription-related fraud or misuse;
-
provide basic purchase support (for example, restoring access when appropriate).
We use purchase signals only for these operational purposes and not for advertising profiling.
8. Refund Verification and Related Processing
If you initiate a refund request through the App Store, Apple may request or receive certain limited, anonymized usage information where required or permitted by App Store refund processes. For example, this may include high-level interaction signals or time spent using certain features.
This information (when shared) is used only for refund verification and eligibility checks under App Store procedures, and not for creating personal profiles.
9. Service Providers and SDKs We Use
We may use trusted third-party providers to help us operate, maintain, and improve the App. Examples include:
-
Firebase Analytics — to understand aggregated usage patterns and high-level app interactions;
-
Firebase Crashlytics — to identify crashes, error trends, and performance issues.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and security standards. Where possible, we aim to configure third-party SDKs to collect only what is necessary for diagnostics, reliability, and product improvement.
10. When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information only in limited situations, such as:
-
Service providers. With vendors that process information on our behalf for analytics, diagnostics, reliability, and related operational needs.
-
Legal requirements. If required by law, regulation, court order, or valid legal process.
-
Protection and safety. To protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the App, including preventing fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
-
App Store operations. With Apple for purchase administration or refund verification as described in this Policy.
When feasible, we share information in anonymized, aggregated, or pseudonymized form, and we limit sharing to what is relevant for the specific purpose.
11. Tracking Signals and Device Identifiers
The App does not use browser cookies. However, third-party SDKs may use device-level identifiers (such as the Advertising ID or similar signals) for analytics, diagnostics, and fraud prevention, depending on your device settings, permissions, and applicable law.
You can control tracking and ad identifier access through your device’s privacy settings. Your choices may affect the availability or quality of certain diagnostics signals but should not prevent the App from operating in its core form.
12. International Data Processing
Analytics and diagnostics data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Such processing is protected by the security and compliance measures used by our service providers and, where applicable, by appropriate legal mechanisms supporting international data transfers.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that any transfers are handled in line with this Policy and relevant data protection requirements.
13. How Long We Keep Information
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:
-
Diagnostics and analytics. Retained for troubleshooting, reliability analysis, and product improvement, and deleted or anonymized when no longer needed for these purposes.
-
Support communications. May be retained until your issue is resolved and then kept for a limited period for record-keeping, quality assurance, and to help handle repeat issues—unless deletion is requested where applicable.
Retention periods can vary based on data type, operational needs, and legal requirements.
14. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of four (4). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If we learn that personal data from a child has been collected, we will take steps to delete it as soon as reasonably possible after we are notified and are able to identify and remove the relevant data.
15. Your Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have rights such as:
-
requesting access to information associated with you;
-
requesting correction or deletion;
-
restricting or objecting to certain processing;
-
requesting a portable copy of certain data.
Because the App generally does not collect direct identifiers by default, we may not always be able to link technical data to a specific individual. Even so, we will make reasonable efforts to respond to valid requests where applicable, including explaining what we can and cannot identify based on the information available.
16. California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to request:
-
the categories of personal information collected;
-
the categories of sources and purposes of collection;
-
deletion of personal information (where applicable);
-
confirmation that we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.
17. Security Safeguards
We use reasonable, industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information. These safeguards may include secure development practices and encryption in transit where applicable.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use device-level protections and to avoid sharing sensitive information through support channels unless necessary.
18. External Links and Independent Services
The App may include links to external websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties, and their practices may differ from ours.
We encourage you to review third-party privacy policies before providing information to them or using their services.
19. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, operational practices, or legal requirements. If changes are material, we may notify you within the App or by other appropriate means.
Your continued use of the App after an update becomes effective means you accept the revised Policy.
