If you’ve been referred for an ultrasound and it's your first time, it’s normal to have questions. At Vicimaging, we strive to make the experience stress-free, informative, and comfortable.
Before Your Ultrasound Appointment
Preparation varies depending on the type of scan. You may be asked to:
-
Drink water to fill your bladder (for pelvic scans)
-
Fast for 6–8 hours (for abdominal ultrasounds)
-
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
Our team will inform you of specific instructions when you book.
During the Scan
-
A gel is applied to your skin to allow smooth movement of the ultrasound probe.
-
The sonographer gently moves the probe to capture clear images.
-
The scan typically takes 20 to 30 minutes.
-
It’s completely painless and safe, with no radiation involved.
After the Scan
You can resume normal activities immediately. The results will be reviewed by our radiologist and sent to your referring doctor, usually within 24 hours.
