By the time Eddie got back in the van, he was absolutely soaked to the bone. Typically it would've pulled a small chuckle or a joke from Demona about how he looked like a cat that just fell into a bath, but this time, all it did was pull a small sigh from her. The van needed a lot of work, and while she normally could've just asked her dad to fix it for her, she did not feel like explaining to them what had happened. No, their only choice was for Eddie to fix it, and while she knew he was more than capable of doing it, there was another problem.
The storm wasn't supposed to let up until the morning, when the sun would be out.
They had barely started their trip, and already everything was going wrong.
"I'll live." Slumping down in her seat, the blonde began to pull her coat off. It was restricting her suddenly in a way that made her want to scream, and after tossing it in the back, she crossed her arms, eyes flickering over her fiance next to her. Her head was pounding, but there was nothing they could do for it at the moment. "I don't think I have a concussion. I have a headache, but I can see straight now and my memory is fine. As for 'I told you so', we'll call this even for when I ran you off the road."
Glancing outside as a flash of lightning was quickly followed by a crack of thunder, the woman crossed her arms tighter around her. They were stuck in her van until Eddie could fix it, but with morning came the sun, something they had been trying their best to avoid. There was no telling just how long it would be until they could continue on their trip, and after chewing on her lower lip for a brief moment, she glanced into the back seat before back to the man at her side. She had an idea, and while it wasn't the best idea, it was the best she was going to be able to offer in her current state. After all, she had installed curtains over the back and side windows of her van long before returning to Hawkins, and she had never been more glad for that aesthetic choice than she was at the current moment.
" . . . Why don't you climb back there and change into something dry, and we can pin a blanket over the gap to the front seat. That should keep you from getting caught in the sun in the morning."
