I didn’t think I’d laugh this hard at a crime movie, but Deep Cover (2025) completely surprised me. It’s one of those rare films that mixes two things you wouldn’t expect — real criminal investigations and comedy improv — and somehow makes it work.
The main character, Kat, is just a regular improv teacher trying to get by in London. She never expected to be pulled into an undercover sting operation. But when a grumpy detective shows up needing people to blend in with criminals, she and her two awkward students become unlikely heroes. Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed play her students, and honestly, their performances had me cracking up the whole time.
What I really loved about this movie is how it shows that even people with zero experience can rise to the occasion — as long as they’re brave (and a little bit lucky). The movie is full of funny fails, but also has sweet moments where the characters grow closer as a team.
I watched Deep Cover (2025) on Afdah, and it was a smooth experience with great video quality. If you’re looking for something funny, smart, and totally different, this movie is a must-watch.
