You've probably heard of "driverless cars," but what about autopilot? You can use it on your Tesla. The Autopilot function will help you drive more efficiently and save time while enjoying the ride! Tesla is one of the most exciting technologies on Earth, but it's also scary to use autopilot. So we're here for you with some tips and tricks!

One of the most common questions that come up for new Tesla owners is whether or not they have set up autopilot correctly, which can be a bit worrying given how popular this feature has become.

A good first step would be to double-check your settings and make sure all necessary approvals are in place before you hit "launch" on Model 3's dashboard-mounted remote control (yes - it even works during the drive).

Cruise Control

One great way to get more familiarized with the driving assistance options that you have access to is by starting on traffic-aware cruise control. This feature matches your speed of travel and those around it in order to make for less stressful travels, but still requires drivers to steer and change lanes themselves if needed!

(For Model S and Model X) - pull down once on the cruise control stalk on the left of the steering column.

  •

(For Model 3 and Model Y) - pull down once on the gear selector stalk on the right of the steering column.

AutoSteer

The Traffic-Aware Cruise Control is a great feature that will keep you centered in your lane, but it's worth trying out Autosteer for more fun! The self-steering system can assist with steering within clearly marked boundaries and uses the same technology as cruise control.  It will help you stay in your lane and maintain speed without needing both hands for steering, which can be difficult at times!

For Model S and Model X) - pull towards you twice on the cruise control stalk on the left of the steering column.

(For Model 3 and Model Y) - pull down twice on the gear selector stalk on the right of the steering column.
