Inference examples for students
In reading, inference is the process of drawing logical conclusions or understanding deeper meanings not explicitly stated in the text by combining textual evidence with the reader's own background knowledge. Often called "reading between the lines," it allows readers to fill in gaps, understand character motivations, and grasp themes.
