Amethyst grew up in a small town in Michigan. It was extremely close to the beach, and often times she would go with her mother and grandmother to the shore to collect shells and stones. As she grew older, she learned that they were a family of witches – and Amethyst was a fourth generation witch.
Having grown up around the supernatural and darker sides of life, Amethyst was often picked on in school. One bully in particular, a boy her age named Nathan, was ruthless. He would steal her pencils, put gum in her hair, and even pulled her pants down in front of the entire gym class. One day, during reading time in 5th grade, Nathan went to refill his water bottle only to dump the entire contents on Amethyst’s head. The girl was soaked, embarrassed, and angry, and in a fit of rage, swore she would get her revenge. Unaware of what she was doing, she wrote his name on a piece of paper before throwing it into the fireplace in the living room of her home. She believed it was a way to get him to leave her alone, but the next day, the news of the boy being hit by a car on his way to school flooded around the classroom. By the time he returned, Amethyst had been blamed by the other students, and isolated from the entire school.
By the time her Sophomore year of high school was over, the family moved from Michigan to a small town in Maine, where she spent the summer getting familiar with the town. She was nervous about going to school, though, due to her previous experiences. It didn’t take long for her to meet a girl named Corrie, though, and the two became fast friends. She learned, though, that the girl lived with her grandmother, and when she questioned why, she learned that the redhead had an encounter with the supernatural. She wasn’t surprised that she was the only one to believe her, though.
Amethyst’s family welcomed her new friend into their home whenever the girls wanted to get together, and after high school, they decided to purchase an old bus to turn into an RV and go across the country searching for proof of the supernatural.
