When I worked at Osmose, around 1990,

I noticed the Flash -Point of a certain

Pole-Treatment Fumigant.

I pointed this out to

the Corporate Office Manager.

"How did you find that so fast ?"

he asked me...

"Maybe we can make some kind of

Fire-Retardant coating..." I said...

Utility poles everywhere are inspected and

treated on a 14 year cycle.

This is required by the Insurance Industry.

( If a damaged power pole falls, power

would be cut off to the serviced area,

including hospitals, etc., leading to

enormous liabilities.)

In light of the frequent disasters in

certain areas of the country, this inspection

schedule should be more frequent.

Immediate after a disaster...

Regarding Homeowners and cleanup:

        re-ignites more quickly

        than undamaged wood.

Replace any charred wood, don't just

paint over it.

Perhaps Osmose can develop

a spray-on fire-retardant coating for

Roofs,windowsills, and decks in

frequent fire regions...

(Embers land on horizontal surfaces.)

Regulatory repair bottlenecks

must be identified and suspended

during the recovery period.

Remember:

The Empire State Building was completed in 410 days, or 1 year and 45 days, after construction began on March 17, 1930...

That's what can be done in the absence

of NANNY-STATE regulations.
