There are more and more people in the world who are overweight, which, of course, is harmful to human health in general. There are many reasons that cause obesity, so it is difficult to single out an exclusive culprit: genetic inheritance, hormonal disorders 1️⃣, excessive sugar consumption, various food additives that confuse the work of glands with internal secretion, and, of course, the reason that is still not recognized in the West: cheap food, in terms of financial income, which causes overeating.
All of the above is detrimental to the health of individuals, nations and the human species as a whole, and in this case we would like to introduce you to a dietary approach that has proven to be very effective in practice, effective in the sense that you introduce into your body the amount of food that is normal for you, without making you overweight.
Of course, we will introduce you to the Italian approach to nutrition, and those who are familiar with it will probably remember what we are talking about. Namely, despite the fact that they consume large quantities of fat-causing carbohydrates found in various types of pasta, Italians are not a nation of fat people, on the contrary, they are most often thin and very active people.
The secret is this: an Italian meal, say lunch, consists of three parts: first a salad is served on the table, and when the housemates have had their fill of salads, it is removed from the table, and now various kinds of meat are served, including fish, so that when they are full of meat, it is removed from the table, after which various kinds of pasta (bread or pastries during breakfast) and/or cookies are served.
The point is this: the body, which needs nutrients when served with a salad, extracts from it, say 85-90% of the nutrients, then uses a slightly smaller percentage of nutrients from the meat, say 60%, because by eating the salad it has already satisfied part of its nutritional needs, so extract only 20% of the nutrients from the pasta (cookies and fruit) at the end of the meal 2️⃣.
Since in this way the majority of the nutrients absorbed are minerals and vitamins (salad), a little less protein and fats (meat) and the least of all vegetable proteins and carbohydrates (pasta, bread, pastries, cookies, fruits) 3️⃣, the human body manages to maintain normal body weight.
So, with the Italian approach to eating, you will be able to eat as usual, while maintaining your body weight within the limits that allow you to have good health and easy physical mobility. The minimum time required for this approach to eating to yield positive results is three months, and we consider that this is not too long, because after that you will find that by practicing the Italian approach to dining, your body weight returns to a level that is appropriate for your physical constitution.
