1. Introduction

NotHere (“the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension designed to allow users to manually enable, disable, and switch proxy connections using Chrome’s built-in proxy configuration. We value user privacy and are committed to transparency regarding how data is handled.

2. Data Collection

NotHere VPN does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

Specifically, the extension does not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email address, age, identifiers)

  • Authentication credentials for websites

  • Browsing history or visited URLs

  • IP addresses for tracking purposes

  • Location data

  • Communications or content from web pages

  • Analytics or usage metrics

3. Local Data Storage

The extension uses Chrome’schrome.storage.localAPI only to store proxy configuration data locally on the user’s device, such as:

  • Selected proxy server

  • Proxy authentication credentials (username and password)

This data:

  • Remains entirely on the user’s device

  • Is never transmitted to external servers

  • Is used solely to maintain the proxy connection until the user disconnects

4. Network Permissions

NotHere VPN uses Chrome network permissions (such as proxy and webRequest APIs) strictly to:

  • Configure browser proxy settings when the user clicks Connect or Disconnect

  • Respond to proxy authentication challenges when required by the selected server

The extension does not inspect, log, modify, or monitor user web traffic.

5. Third-Party Services

NotHere VPN does not use third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or external APIs.
All functionality is provided locally within the extension.

6. Remote Code

NotHere VPN does not execute remote code.
All JavaScript code is packaged with the extension and runs locally in the browser. The extension does not load or execute external scripts.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, transfer, or disclose user data to third parties for any purpose.

8. Children’s Privacy

NotHere VPN does not target children and does not knowingly collect any data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, the revised version will be made available at the same public URL and the “Last updated” date will be adjusted accordingly.
