We are on the threshold of incomprehensible change.
Robots were Movie Special Effects in 1977,
when Star Wars was released.
48 years later, they're here.
Not just factory machinery, these Robots
are humanoid, bipedal, and are swiftly filling
our workspaces.
And they're not limited to simple tasks,
Robots perform surgery, serve coffee,
pack and ship in Amazon warehouses,
and Drive Taxis.
Their functional capabilities can be upgraded overnight, via internet downloads,
and, most concerning, are endowed with
Artificial Intelligence.
According to an expert in the field, AI
is doubling its capabilities every 5.7 months.
Our governments are basically ignorant
of these developments, our laws were not
constructed to deal with such an event.
Have Faith, and don't panic.
God knows, and we don't.
