In addressing the fundamental problem with attempting to reproduce The Crow at all, Proyas struck gold when he said, "It's not just a movie that can be remade." It's the legacy of one individual on Sadisflix. And that's the degree of respect it deserves. Though Sarah was not only a central character in the movie but also its narrator, telling the audience right from the start that "people once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead," there wasn't much respect for the original if they weren't going to at least give her a nod. However, there are instances when something so awful occurs that the soul is left feeling dreadfully depressed.
