Why can't THEY do it ?

Mike Braun, speaking on

the effectiveness of

sending National Guard Troops

to crime-ridden cities

in other states.

 

Why can't THEY do it ?

 

After all, each state has it's 

own National Guard...

 

My answer to his question

is Fear, Campaign Donations,

and Political Backlash.

Fear: 

Because they're sitting ducks.

 

They know how dangerous

the crime gangs are,

and they know where

the Mayor lives, and works...

 

For $20 bucks they can find

where the Police live,

and where their kids schools are,

and where they worship.

 

They have a target painted

on their backs, and they know it.

 

Campaign Donations:

Some wealthy people

are far from upright citizens,

and yet, if they contribute

generously to a Mayoral campaign,

The Mayor then gets very

ambiguous as to taking action

against the wealthy contributor

and his "associates..."

 

Political Backlash:

Politics is dirty,

and any decisive action

taken by the Mayor

and police, will be twisted

into a negative

Police Brutality Campaign...

and you know how

the socialists would vote...

 

Suggestion:

Periodically swap

SWAT teams from

far-flung cities

in a random fashion.

 

Deputize the visiting

police who make the arrests.

allow Skype testimony

from distant cops

when it comes to trial.

 

The visitors come from

an unknown address...

 

They're not MILITARY,

so that can't be used politically...

 

They DON'T CARE

who made what Campaign contribution.

If they see the gangs carjack

and smash and grab,

They'll get them.

 

Or...

 

Your city can buy

5000 Robocops

for $100,000 dollars apiece.

 

(That's half a $Billion...)

Of course, with NYC's $113 Billion Budget...

That's incredibly doable.
