Oliver, the answer to the question you asked yourself: "How could our Ego know that books on meditation and Osho's opuses are dangerous for its survival? " is very simple.
Namely, the Ego is isolated in the aura of the person in whom it resides, but the person, that is, you Oliver, at the time when you had the Ego, you are not isolated from the larger reality. This means that although you were not familiar with the content of the two books on meditation, nor with the content of 10-15 books by Osho, your connection with the Universe, which refers to the connection by the very birth, the incarnation on the physical plane of the planet Earth, allowed your Ego to understand from which side it was being threatened.
This means that your Ego, Oliver, was very intelligent, because it came from a part of the energy of the Life, Emotional and Mental body/auric layer, that is, from the waves emitted by the brain when you react to one of the three bodies/auric layers mentioned above. Since at birth your thinking part of consciousness was already quite developed, therefore the thinking part of your Ego had a very high degree of intelligence, on the basis of which it came to the conclusion that the most dangerous for its survival were books on meditation and the opuses of Osho's books. That is why your Ego, Oliver, affected your consciousness whenever you thought about reading the above-mentioned books, putting a block on you to prevent you from acting in this sense, which you semi-consciously felt, but you did not understand what, that is, who was acting on your consciousness.
Years later, meaning years after the complete erasure of the Ego from your aura, the memory of this event would sometimes appear in your consciousness, knowing that it was the influence of your Ego that prevented you from reading information that could threaten its survival.
