Regarding salary, technical institutions follow their own salary norms. But its always on the upper end of the spectrum(in IITs it’s nearly 1.2 lakhs p.m. post taxes for an Asst. Professor who has finished his initial contract along side a highest salary govt. jobs bungalow/house/flat in campus, several perks, free school education for teenagers in KV’s which are in campus itself, travel grants, research grants etc). Professors earn through consulting also . If one has the potential , then owning and running a start-up is extremely much possible and legal also .
