The woman entered the room.
"You wanted to speak with me, sir?" She kept her cool, yet was trembling on the inside.
"Have a seat." The man gestured to the chair in front of his rosewood desk.
The woman sat down. I hope my hair isn't messy... She thought.
"Margot, bring two glasses of wine please. Red please, you know I hate white wine." The man requested. A maid standing nearby the door hurried out to one of the kitchens.
"And close the door."
A hand shot back and pushed it shut.
He turned back to the woman. "So..." His voice rumbled.
"Give me the report on the employee situation."
She gulped. "It hasn't gotten much better, sir."
"Hm.." His voice rumbled. He stood up and walked to one of the bookshelves.
"Sir..."
He didn't hear her question. He didn't need to. He knew exactly what she was going to ask.
"I am looking for the..." He cleared his throat. If she knew what it was, would she turn her back on him?
"Elizabeth, I need you to sign..." he walked to his desk and rummaged around.
He pulled out a pre-written copy of a binding document.
"This."
Elizabeth knew if she signed, anything he didn't want her to do or tell would not be done, no matter how hard she tried.
Rumors have come and gone about his contracts, all coming down to one point; they would control you.
Elizabeth was afraid yet she knew what she would put at stake if she didn't.
It's only saying about how I should not tell anyone about what happens in the hotel unless authorized, that's all...
She couldn't even lie to herself.
The man pulled out a pen and set it in front of her.
With a trembling hand, Elizabeth picked up the pen and wrote her signature.
To her surprise, the black ink faded into red after she pulled her pen up.
"Good." The man smiled yet his eyes lacked warmth.
"Now I will show you what will solve our employment problems."
