PDF Scanner. Privacy Policy.

1. Overview and Consent

When you access or use PDF Scanner (the “App”), you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these terms, please stop using the App immediately.

2. App Permissions

2.1 Media Library Access – We request access to your photo and video library solely to allow you to select images or videos for scanning or display via AirPlay. We do not upload, store, or share your media unless you explicitly choose to do so.

2.2 Local Network Access – This is required to discover and communicate with compatible display devices (e.g., smart TVs) on your Wi-Fi network. Without it, remote streaming and control features will not be available.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Data You Provide Directly

  • Configuration Preferences – Settings such as measurement units, themes, or notification options are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.

  • Feedback & Support – Messages you send via in-App feedback forms (e.g., bug reports, feature requests) may include your text input and optional diagnostics you choose to send.

3.2 Automatically Collected Technical Data

We use trusted third-party tools, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to collect:

  • Device make, model, and operating system version

  • App version and installation date

  • Anonymized device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)

  • Performance metrics, including crash logs and error reports

This information helps us troubleshoot issues, monitor performance, and improve the App.

4. Use of Third-Party Services

  • Crash ReportingFirebase Crashlytics aggregates crash reports so we can identify and resolve stability issues.

  • Usage AnalyticsFirebase Analytics provides insights into feature adoption, session lengths, and engagement trends.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Technical Logs & Analytics – Retained only as long as necessary for troubleshooting and performance analysis, then aggregated or deleted.

  • User Feedback – Stored until you request deletion or withdraw consent. You can contact us to have these records removed.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccuracies

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Restrict or object to processing

  • Receive your data in a portable format

Since our App does not collect personal identifiers by default, these requests are rare. Contact us if you wish to exercise your rights.

7. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights

California residents may request:

  • Disclosure of categories of personal information collected or shared

  • Deletion of personal information

  • Opt-out of the sale of personal data (not applicable – we do not sell data)

We honor these rights without discrimination. Requests can be made via email.

8. International Data Transfers

Our analytics and crash-reporting providers may process data on servers outside your country. These transfers are subject to each provider’s security measures and safeguards.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under four (4) years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below this age. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us for prompt deletion.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App does not directly use cookies. However, embedded third-party services may use cookies or device identifiers. You can disable or limit these in your device settings, though some features may be affected.

11. Refund-Related Analytics

If you request a refund for an in-App purchase, anonymized usage data (e.g., total time in app, feature usage) may be shared with the App Store solely to verify the refund claim.

12. Subscriptions and Purchases

All payments are processed securely by the App Store. We do not store your payment details. We may receive anonymized purchase information (e.g., subscription type, renewal status, country of purchase) to manage your access and provide support.

13. Security Practices

We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit, secure coding, and periodic security audits to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

14. External Links and Services

The App may contain links or integrations with third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before using those services.

15. Biometric Data

The App does not collect biometric identifiers (e.g., facial scans, fingerprints, voiceprints). If biometric features are added in the future, we will notify you and request explicit consent.

16. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-App notification. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
