MSPT will return to Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Lachwood, Iowa, just outside of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. From March 4-8, Grand Falls Casino will play host to Local Series Event 36, which will culminate in a $36050,000 GTD main event.
Once again, MSPT and Grand Falls Casino are adding a bit of flavor by starting with the $250 Tag Team Tournament on Wednesday, March 4, with the $125 Senior Championship (50+) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, and the $125 Turbo Deepstack, where players start with 25,000 chips at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 6. The $80 satellite series, which will feed the $360 local event, will run from Feb. 19.
The $360 local main event will feature three starts on Thursday, March 5, at 5 p.m., and Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m., starting on Day 1A and Day 1B. Day 1C will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 2:30 p.m. All three days will be in 15 stages. The survivors of each flight will return on Sunday, March 8, at 12 p.m. to play against the winner.
Last season's $360 MSPT Grand Falls regional event drew 339 participants, with Eric Acheson winning the championship and $22,457. In 2018, it was Minnesota's Aaron Johnson (MSPT Season 9 Player of the Year), who came out on top to win $21,268 after signing a pre-contract with Matthew Breck, who had $17,500. In 2017, it was SD's Travis Gant, who took $29,782 over a field with 426 runners.
