Doosan Bears outfielder Yang-ji (37) hits a two-run home run in a baseball game.
Yang started at No. 4 catcher against the Kiwoom Heroes in the 2024 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Sunday.
After leading off the top of the second inning with both teams tied 0-0, Yang hit a 124-kilometer-per-hour changeup from Kiwoom's left-handed starter Lee Jong-min for a leadoff solo home run over the left field fence. It traveled 110 meters. It was Yang's fifth home run of the season and 250th of his career.
Yang's bat didn't cool down in the third inning. With Doosan up 4-0, Yang again led off the inning, this time taking a three-pitch 139-kilometer fastball from Lee Jong-min and sending it over the fence on the same course as the second inning. It was his 12th career back-to-back home run, 안전놀이터 with his previous two coming on Sept. 7, 2022, against Changwon Doosan and Sept. 8, 2022, against Suwon KT, both while with the NC. It was his first home run in 607 days. For Doosan, it was a whopping 2,155 days since he hit back-to-back home runs on June 13, 2018, against Jamsil KT. It was his sixth home run of the season and 251st of his career.
