Harrah Announces 2005 World Poker Series Schedule

 For 35 years, the Poker World Series has been a Las Vegas-only event. However, the road to eventual championship of poker in 2005 begins in Atlantic City. From Jan. 7-18, 2005, Harrer Atlantic City will host the first event of the 2005 World Series, a five-poker tournament circuit hosted by Harrer Entertainment. The tournament will precede the 36th edition of the Poker World Series, which will be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

 

"In 2005, the World Series of Poker begins its evolution from a month-long special event to an all-year-round sport," said Ginni Shanks, senior vice president of acquisition and marketing at Hara. "The road to the World Series of Poker Championship is going to be challenging and arduous. But unlike professional football, basketball, golf, or auto racing, even green amateurs can challenge themselves for the title."

 

Players will earn points according to their performances in circuit tournaments and World Series of Poker. The top 100 points winners will receive free invitations to the 2005 World Series of Poker Tournament, where one winner can take the top prize of $2 million.

 

The tournament circuit, which will be held in January in Atlantic City, will stop at Lincon (Feb. 20-Mar. 1) in Hara, near San Diego, Rio (Mar. 12-22), Havis Lake Taho (Apr. 26-May 10), and New Orleans (May 21-30) in Hara.  프라그마틱 슬롯 사이트 Each event will be recorded and aired on ESPN.

 

The 36th World Series Poker Championship will begin on June 2 and run until July 15. About 5,000 players are expected to participate in their championship, an unlimited purchase event in Texas that costs $10,000, double the number of competitions held in 2004.

 

To accommodate the field of many expected participants, the 2005 World Series of Poker will be mostly held in Rio, although the last two days of the championship tournament will be held at Vinians Hosch in downtown Las Vegas. The 2005 Tournament of Champions will be held soon after the World Series of Poker Championship game ends and will be held in Rio.
