Controversy over 'mocking misjudgment' that angered baseball fans

The ABS, which was first introduced to the KBO League this season, is controversial because the referee judged the ball as a strike in the automatic pitching judgment system.

In the match between Samsung and NC, the referee judged the second ball thrown by NC Lee Jae-hak to Samsung Lee Jae-hyun in the third inning, but ABS was found to have read it as a strike.

The ABS, introduced by KBO this year, allows the machine to determine the "strike and ball" and delivers the result to the referee wearing the "in-ear."안전놀이터

Unless there is a 'read error', the referee must follow the ABS decision.

Lee Jae-hak's '2nd pitch' was determined by ABS as a 'sure strike'.

The KBO ABS situation room worker also heard the machine's 'strike call'.

We need to check the facts further, but the referee seems to have missed the ABS's 'strike call'.

NC manager Kang In-kwon complained to the referee after confirming the facts, but the referee explained that the "appeal prescription" has passed since the game was played after the decision in question.

But before the referee director publicly explained the "regulation," the "quiet conversation" between the referees contained a different story.

During the four-trial agreement process, the referee told the referee, "Tell him the voice was clearly recognized as a ball. What we're going to get out of.... That's all I have to say," was caught on TV.

Many fans suspect that the intention was to turn the "misjudgment of judgment" into a "machine error."

The Korea Baseball Organization and the KBO plan to receive a report from the referees and check the facts before discussing whether to take disciplinary action.
