Sitting Position For Non-Ego Meditation

For meditators who spend several hours a day meditating, after a while, the problem can be pain in the back and buttocks, which certainly weakens the effect of meditation. This is especially pronounced in the non-Ego type of meditation, in which the willpower of the Ego is not used, but it is a receptive type of meditation.

Therefore, if you use the meditation position "A", pain in the back and buttocks will force you to stop meditating, because the weight of the head and torso is compressed in the region of the back and buttocks by the vertical effect of the force of gravity (1).

In position "B" the meditation period will be noticeably longer, because the weight of the head and trunk due to the vertical effect of the force of gravity is now diversified (2), at the same time a much larger surface of the body is in contact with the chair, which reduces the pressure per square centimeter.

Place a piece of wood, metal...(3) 7-10 centimeters or more thick under the two front legs of the chair, depending on the shape of the chair and the length of your legs. Place a pillow (4) or a folded blanket under your feet. The last two legs of the chair should be oblique (5), for stability reasons.

When after a while you feel tiredness and an unpleasant sensation in the lower legs, raise them on stools (6), it is a very pleasant position for meditation, as far as the legs are concerned.

During meditation, the problem with the legs is that walking is easier and more natural for them, than the resting position.
